Who built this, and why.

What CLRTY stands for

Five letters. One daily choice.

  1. Choice
The daily decision to start over.
  2. Life
    The ultimate goal you’re reclaiming.
  3. Recovery
    The active process and journey.
  4. Tracking
The tool and data proving your success.
  5. Yourself
The focus, the operator, and the prize.

Track the Choice. Live the Recovery.

Founder, CLRTY · Owner, Set Up Home Theater LLC · Rocky Mount, NC

Retired U.S. Army Major with 20+ years of leadership in high-stakes operations. Built CLRTY on a simple belief: quitting a habit is hard enough without your tracker working against you — so CLRTY keeps recovery private, with no accounts, no ads, and no analytics SDKs watching what you do.

The one promise

What you log in the CLRTY app never leaves your phone. The app has no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics SDKs, no insurer partnerships, no ads. The core app works 100% offline. The only time a network request leaves the device is when you deliberately open the AI Recovery Coach — and even that conversation is not stored on our servers and is not linked to any account because there are no accounts. (This public marketing website uses lightweight, privacy-conscious analytics — see the privacy policy.)

What's wrong with the other sobriety apps?

Short version: most of them harvest the exact data a person in recovery most needs to protect. If you've ever opened a free sobriety app and seen it ask for your email, your real name, your phone number, your location, your insurance, or your "accountability partner's" contact, you've been through the funnel we built CLRTY to avoid. That data flows outward — to ad networks, to insurers, to data brokers, to the kind of partner integrations that let a car-insurance company adjust your premium based on how often you log a drink. We built CLRTY so the only person who ever sees what you log is you.

How does CLRTY make money?

The honest answer: Premium subscriptions, billed through Google Play. $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year with a 2-month free trial. That's the entire business model. We do not sell data, we do not run ads, we do not take affiliate kickbacks from treatment centres, and we do not take investment from anyone whose business model would push us in that direction. If Premium doesn't earn enough to pay rent, CLRTY will shut down before it starts collecting on you. The pricing page is the whole deal — nothing's hidden.

Why Android first?

We're a small shop at the time of writing, which means iOS has to wait a little. Android first also happens to match the audience we most want to reach — the Play Store is where the budget-conscious, privacy-aware crowd actually looks for a quit app, and Google Play Billing is friendlier to a solo developer than Apple's early-stage review process. iOS is on the roadmap. If you want to be told when it ships, email the address in the contact section below.

What we won't do, ever

Who it's for — and who it isn't

CLRTY is built for adults quitting on their own — people who don't want an account, a feed, or a sponsor on their phone. It's a lifestyle habit tracker and education tool, not a clinical device, not a treatment plan, not a crisis service. If you're in medical detox, in an insurance-funded program, or in crisis, please work with a clinician and call 988 (US) or your local emergency line.
