CLRTY Get on Google Play

Every tool CLRTY ships with — and what runs offline.

CLRTY is a private, device-only addiction-and-habit tracker for Android. Every feature below is already in the app on Google Play. The only one that touches the internet is the AI Recovery Coach; everything else works on airplane mode because it has to. You never sign up for anything, so there's nothing to "sync" and nothing to delete when you uninstall.

Who is this for?

Adults quitting on their own — people cutting down or stopping alcohol, nicotine, cannabis, gambling, screens, porn, caffeine, or any daily habit — who don't want an account, a feed, or a sponsor on their phone. CLRTY is a self-help lifestyle tool, not clinical detox. If you're in medical withdrawal or crisis, call 988 (US) or your clinician.

Daily tracking

The Today tab is the one you open twenty times a day. It shows a clean-day counter, your best streak, cost-avoided math in dollars and hours of life back, and a Recovery Tree that grows through seven visible stages so you can see progress at a glance. You track 20+ default habits (alcohol, nicotine, cannabis, cocaine, meth, benzos, opioids, gambling, screens, porn, gaming, sugar, caffeine, shopping, nail-biting, hair-pulling, skin-picking, overeating, over-exercise, and custom) with per-habit baselines so a "90% cut-down" day on nicotine counts as a win instead of a relapse.

Taper plans

Every substance ships with a built-in taper curve — gentle, aggressive, or custom — and daily targets so you know exactly what today's "allowance" is. You can edit the plan at any time; CLRTY recomputes the curve without penalising past days. Taper plans run on-device: no server knows what you drink.

In-the-moment urge tools

The Cravings tab opens five tools you can reach in two taps: a 4-7-8 breathing timer (free), box breathing + the physiological sigh (Premium), 5-4-3-2-1 grounding (Premium), an urge-surfing timer that visualises the wave, and a HALT check-in that asks "Hungry? Angry? Lonely? Tired?" before you reach for the thing. A tap-to-call button for 988 and SAMHSA sits at the bottom of the tab for the moments the tools aren't enough.

Milestones that mean something

CLRTY ships with 18 milestone badges from Day 1 ("The first choice") through Year 1 ("The new default"), each paired with a personal letter written for that specific moment — not generic affirmations, actual language about the week-two slog or the one-year identity shift. Hit a milestone, generate a shareable card (your handle, your streak, your choice of what to show), and share it however you want. The badges never post themselves anywhere.

AI Recovery Coach (Premium, needs internet)

The Coach is the only Premium feature that leaves your device. You type or dictate (voice input uses OpenAI Whisper for transcription), and the response comes from Anthropic Claude. The exchange is not stored on our servers, is not linked to any account (CLRTY has none), and the Coach can't see any of your logs unless you quote them in your message. If you never open the Coach tab, the app never makes a network request. Full breakdown on the FAQ.

Learn library

23 withdrawal and recovery articles cover what to expect in the first 72 hours of nicotine withdrawal, the three week slog in alcohol tapering, the dopamine reset in screen fasting, and more. Everything is clinically-informed, cited, and written to be read on the toilet at 3am when you can't sleep — not read like a textbook. All offline.

The privacy promise

In the CLRTY app: no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics SDKs, no insurer partnerships, no ads. The core app works 100% offline. The one exception — the AI Recovery Coach — is opt-in, needs internet, and still isn't tied to an identity because there isn't one. See the full policy for exactly what the one network request contains and what it doesn't. (This marketing website uses lightweight, privacy-conscious analytics that never see any of your in-app data.)
