1. Who we are
CLRTY ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application published under the developer account Anchor Installations. This Privacy Policy describes how the CLRTY Android app (the "App") handles information.
2. Information we collect
None. The App does not require sign-up, does not create an account for you, does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information (PII).
Specifically, we do not collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Precise or approximate location data
- Contacts, calendar entries, photos, or files
- Advertising ID or device identifiers for tracking
- Health data, financial data, or messaging content
- Usage analytics, event tracking, or crash telemetry
3. How your data is stored
When you use CLRTY, you may enter information such as which habits you're tracking, your sober dates, cravings you've logged, journal reflections, and preferences. This information is stored exclusively on your device using Android's local storage (AsyncStorage). It never leaves your phone. It is not transmitted to any server operated by us or by any third party.
If you uninstall the App, all data is permanently deleted along with it. There is no cloud backup, no recovery, and no copy retained anywhere.
4. Backups and Data Export
The App offers a manual Export feature that lets you save your logs to a JSON file on your device. This action is initiated only by you, and the file is written to your device's local storage or shared via your device's native share sheet to a destination you choose (e.g., Google Drive, email). We do not receive a copy.
5. In-app purchases
CLRTY offers an optional Premium subscription through Google Play Billing. Any purchase is processed entirely by Google — we do not see or store your payment details, card number, or Google account. Google's own privacy policy governs their handling of that transaction (policies.google.com/privacy).
To determine whether you have an active subscription, the App queries the Google Play Billing library locally on your device. No user identifier is transmitted to us.
6. Permissions the App requests
CLRTY requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:
- Internet — required by Android for Google Play Billing to verify your subscription status. No other network calls are made by the App.
- Post Notifications (Android 13+) — only if you enable optional reminders. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
7. Third-party services
The App integrates with the following third-party services strictly for the functionality noted:
- Google Play Billing — for optional Premium subscriptions.
- Google Play In-App Review — if you tap "Rate this app," Android shows a native review dialog. We receive no information about whether you rated or what rating you gave.
No advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or social-login SDKs are embedded in the App.
8. Children's privacy
CLRTY is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Since we do not collect any personal data from anyone, there is nothing to purge if a minor uses the App.
9. Your rights
Because we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, requests for access, portability, or deletion under laws like the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar regulations are automatically satisfied — we have nothing to give up or delete. Your on-device data is fully under your control at all times. You can:
- Export your data at any time via the in-app Export feature.
- Delete individual entries or reset the entire App from Settings → Data.
- Uninstall the App to permanently erase all local data.
10. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the App handles data, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change. If a future change ever introduces data collection (which is contrary to CLRTY's founding principle), we will notify users prominently in-app before it takes effect and give you a meaningful choice.
